Embracing Solitude: Me About Being Alone

When life was busy and filled with endless tasks, COVID-19 was an unexpected pause—a chance to reset and return to the basics. It was during this time that I truly understood the value of solitude.
The truth is, I thought going out and socialising with people was something that made my life more meaningful, and I just couldn’t imagine myself staying home most of the time.

Joy of spending time with myself

Being alone doesn’t mean being lonely. I learned to enjoy my own company, to do things for myself, and to reconnect with forgotten parts of my life. Sorting through old belongings, reflecting on memories, and picking up things I had once set aside—it all became a journey of self-discovery.
Now, solitude is no longer something to avoid but something to embrace. It’s a space for growth, clarity, and self-care.

These days, I make it a point to schedule some ‘Me Time’—just to do things with myself. I love wandering around KL, observing my surroundings, and settling into a café with a good cup of coffee. If no one’s available, I don’t mind going for a solo hike either.

I recently started doing Karaoke myself and singing for 2 hours when I was pissed off and had no idea how to relieve my tension. It was a great experience in my life because I never went alone.
What once felt strange now feels natural, and honestly, I enjoy it more than I ever expected.

Here is the video that I would love to share with you when I came acrossit during MCO – it’s about Solitude by a famous author from Taiwan. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/YYhwhPEumoS1DsaX/?mibextid=wwXIfr
