Goal-Setting: The Power of Connections

In life, everyone has their own values, and my own have become even clearer after a recent trip. In January, I was invited to a company outing at Janda Baik, Pahang, by my boss’s business partner. There’s nothing better than cool weather, lush greenery, and an instant chill in this place. While I did not know most of the team members at first, we quickly got along. The team was full of energy and creativity, which made everything even more exciting.

We had brainstorming sessions, heart-to-heart talks, and some really good bonding moments during a 2-day, 1-night getaway. Getting together for dinner and picking random questions for a sharing session was my favorite part. We had a great time. It was so refreshing to hear everyone’s perspective.

I really enjoyed the session where we talked about what we want to accomplish in the next year and the three most important things in our lives. For me, these three things were Family, My Personal Space (Home), and Travel.

Basically:

  1. The family – While I’m not naturally family-oriented, I know how important it is to have a strong bond with yours.
  2. My Home – Four years ago, I moved into my own little mansion, and I love it so much. It’s my safe space, my comfort zone, and I want to make it even better. I’m going to need more money to create an even cozier, more personalized place.
  3. Travel – Oh, I miss traveling! I haven’t seen new places in years, especially overseas, and I’m craving that adventure. My dream: To spend my next 20 years living in a small Italian town, learning to make authentic Italian dishes from my Nana and soaking up the Italian culture. I’ll bet Italians live life with more passion than the French!

During this trip, I learned the importance of aligning my goals with my values. In order to accomplish these dreams, whether it’s improving my relationship with my family, elevating my personal space, or reigniting my love of travel, I’m determined to work hard. We look forward to more meaningful moments and exciting adventures in the future! ❤️
