This New Year has been good for me compared to previous years. This is because we are fully back on track from the pandemic. Celebrations are in full swing and fireworks are heavily played.

In this CNY, there are many changes, especially in some traditions we practiced every year. For instance, we were out for our Reunion Dinner and there was no cooking for the 1st few days of CNY. On the first day of Chinese New Year, we don’t celebrate our sibling’s day, but rather we celebrate it with our families. After the Reunion Dinner, we had a quick coffee session together before visiting the Chempaka Buddhist temple. I had a whole day vegetarian with mom this year which is unusual for me.

Day 2 of CNY is always a busy and packed day. This year, no one is coming to visit, and we went to Jenjarom to look at LED lighting. Although everything has changed from our ordinally practice, it is all in a good way. First few days were the time to spend with family because this is the only time, we all are in the house and doing things together. Then, I started my friends meet up on the Day 4 onward.
This year, I chose to gather with people who matter the most as I aged, and I feel like we do need to maximize our time with just everything. I feel so grateful to be able to make a good memory on this festive with people.

May the year be good to all of us and everything goes smoothly as we planned.
