In this last month of 2021, how would you want it to be ended like?
Happily. Healthily. Chillingly. Challenge. Unforgettable. Etc…
There are just many ways to celebrate it as long as you are happy about it. A lot of time, people are unaware of what they are wanting and do things that may only make others comfortable and happy without thinking about themselves first.
The whole of December is a busy month for me each year. However, this year will be a bit different where I am even busier than those years. First, I need to babysit my granny as she was left alone at home when my youngest sister brought my parents for a short trip to Penang. I was with her for 3 days where I brought her out one day for a walk in the mall. She is super happy because she has been locked at home since our 1st Lockdown back on March 18, 2020. It was just too sad to see her just stay home and be so bored. This pandemic has changed her way of living life where she has no one to talk to and does nothing at home. Compared to pre-covid time, granny has her friends that meet every morning for a few hours, chit-chatting, and play some games together.
Then, I have my only brother who will be engaged and having the ROM on Dec 12, 2021. That weekend will be a family affair thing. First, we attend his ROM at Thean Hou Temple and proceed for a lunch get-together with both family members. For dinner, we have our family dinner to celebrate the family’s December babies birthday. I ordered a Roku 12 Layers cake for this occasion.
The following weekend, a week before Christmas is Winter Solstices (Dongzhi Festive). All I know about this festive is, it is more important than the Chinese New Year that we celebrate. We are having Family Reunion Dinner on this day. This is the day we make sure we all sit together and have a good meal. It could be slightly different on the food menu to other countries like China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Besides that, we will also get Tongyuan as dessert after the meal. In my childhood time, my mom used t tell me that one Tongyuan is equivalent to one friend. If I want more friends, I must take more. However, I just quite dislike this dessert since young. I remembered I took one or two to please my mom. And I have more friends than the one or two Tongyuan I took now. So, this is not a fact.
The last 2 weekends will be Christmas and New Year that I love about. End the year with joy and good things. It’s just feeling festive season everywhere you go with decorations and people are crazily shopping. Not to forget that the traffic is way crazy than I could imagine.
This year, it is a very different Year-End for me because I can fully enjoy the whole of December without thinking about work. On the other hand, I am busy doing case studies and practical stuff with my Digital Marketing coach which I feel so fulfilled. My coach is so kind to link me to his friend’s agency to explore some opportunities. I am so blessed.
